What Saidtree is

Saidtree is a news tracker built on what public Facebook, Instagram and Threads accounts say. Each story is drawn as a tree: its root is the earliest post in the sources we track, its branches are the voices who carried it, and its rings are what changed since you last looked.

Once a day the Grove collects the trees worth knowing, reviewed by an editor, and then it ends. Tend the trees you care about and Saidtree tells you only what grew.

Who runs it

Saidtree is independent. It is not owned, funded or endorsed by Meta, by any publisher or by any political group.

An editorial desk reviews every tree before it can enter the Grove, writes the titles that appear there, confirms what kind of voice each tracked account is, and handles reports, corrections and requests.

How it is paid for

Reading Saidtree is free, and every trust signal on it is free. We don't run ads, and we don't sell, license or share data about you or about the posts we track.

What we don't do

• We don't rate outlets on a left–right scale. Saidtree compares stories by origin, voices and evidence instead.
• We don't score people or voices. A voice's page describes what we track; it never grades the voice.
• We don't sell or share Meta data, and we don't use it to train AI models.
• We don't host comments, uploads or any other public posts from readers.
• We don't write titles with AI. Every title is written by an editor or quoted word for word from a post.
• We don't rule on whether a claim is true. A tree's status describes what the voices we track have posted.

How we use AI

The summaries on tree pages are written by Claude, a model made by Anthropic. Every AI-written sentence is labelled, cites the posts it came from, and is checked against them before it is shown. How this works.
